Soculent Original – slow-fermented socată, the perfect blend of elderflower and lemon
Original is where the Soculent story started: Transylvanian elderflowers, lemon, water, sugar and two weeks of slow fermentation. Alcohol-free, no synthetic citric acid, in a protective 330 ml aluminium can, available all year round.
What does it taste like?
A balanced taste where you get the full elderflower, followed by lemon and the subtle note that fermentation brings. Small, dense bubbles, like home-made socată, not aggressive like a classic fizzy soft drink. Sweetness is moderate – it is a drink to enjoy with a meal, not a dessert.
Ingredients
Water, sugar, fermented compound (water, sugar, lemon juice concentrate and elderflowers), lemon juice from concentrate (3%), freshly squeezed lemon juice (2%), carbon dioxide, natural flavouring. Dried elderflowers equivalent to 3.6 g of fresh elderflowers were used to make one litre of soft drink.

How we serve it
Cold, 4–6 °C, straight from the can or in a tall glass with ice and a slice of lemon. For children it is a perfect alternative to classic fizzy drinks, which usually contain artificial colourants, much more sugar, preservatives, acidifiers, artificial sweeteners and more.
In a cocktail
Soculent Original is alcohol-free, but it can be used as an ingredient in cocktails – for example with gin, vodka or prosecco.
Frequently asked questions
Does it contain alcohol?
No. Soculent Original is an alcohol-free soft drink.
Why is it slightly tangy?
Because it is fermented, like traditional socată. The acidity comes from lemon and fermentation, not from synthetic citric acid.
How long does it keep?
Sealed, until the date printed on the can, ideally kept cool and out of the sun. Once opened, drink it the same day.
