Soculent Ginger – fermented elderflower soda with ginger
The ginger flavour is the socată for people who drink ginger ale or ginger beer: the same slow-fermented elderflower and lemon base, with ginger extract for a warm, gently spicy finish. Alcohol-free, in a 330 ml can.
What does it taste like?
Floral and citrusy at first, like Original, then the ginger makes itself felt on the finish. The most “grown-up” of the four and the one that holds a spirit best in a cocktail.
Ingredients
Water, sugar, fermented compound (water, sugar, lemon juice concentrate and elderflowers), lemon juice from concentrate (2.3%), freshly squeezed lemon juice (1.5%), carbon dioxide, ginger extract (0.1%), natural flavouring. Dried elderflowers equivalent to 2.7 g of fresh elderflowers were used to make one litre of soft drink.

How we serve it
Cold, with ice and a slice of lime. Pairs with Asian food, barbecue and aged cheeses. In winter it can be gently warmed (not boiled) with a slice of orange – an elderflower and ginger “tea”.
In a cocktail
Soculent Ginger is alcohol-free, but it can be used as an ingredient in cocktails – for example with gin, vodka or prosecco.
Frequently asked questions
How spicy is it?
Moderately. The ginger comes through at the finish as warmth, not heat – similar in intensity to a classic ginger beer.
How is it different from ginger ale?
The base is fermented elderflower socată, not flavoured carbonated water. The ginger sits on top of the floral taste rather than replacing it.
Does it contain alcohol?
No. It is a fermented, alcohol-free soft drink, and it works as a mixer.
